JOB SUMMARY: | Responsible for the prompt repair and ongoing maintenance of facility equipment.Assists higher level mechanics with duties including, but not limited to: servicing, adjusting, and testing machines, devices, moving parts, and equipment that operate primarily based on mechanical (non-electrical) principles. |
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES: | 1.Performs highly diversified duties to install and maintain production machines and other plant equipment. a.Resolves all maintenance and mechanical problems promptly with minimal disruption to production schedules. b.Follows all lock-out, tag-out procedures. c.Performs conveyor belt repair, minor equipment repair, and replaces parts in need of replacing. 2.Completes maintenance recordkeeping. a.Keeps record of all work performed. b.Updates maintenance history logs and completes required paperwork. c.Accounts for equipment used for maintenance and repairs. 3.Understands and follows the company GMP policy. 4.Understands and follows the company safety rules. a.Cleans and maintains work area. 5.May be required to work long hours and weekends. 6.May assume other duties as assigned. |
QUALIFICATIONS: | §High School Diploma or equivalent certification §At least 1 year of industrial maintenance experience required §Ability to speak, read, and write English §Good verbal and written communication skills §Bilingual (Spanish) preferred §Must be well-organized with good attention to detail §Display strong work ethic and positive attitude §Adaptable and dependable with ability to follow direction and work cooperation with others §Must maintain a helpful and professional attitude and appearance §Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed, but uninvolved, instructions and to deal with problems involving a few different variables. |
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS | |
ACTIVITIES: | Very active position, requiring standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing all day |
HEARING: | Must be able to hear average or normal conversations and receive ordinary information. |
REPETITIVE MOTION: | Must be able to frequently and regularly use wrists, hands, and or fingers. |
VISUAL ABILITIES: | Acute close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. |
PHYSICAL STRENGTH: | Regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds throughout the day. |
WORKING CONDITIONS: | Must be able to work for long hours in a no-kill food processing environment, where it is wet, damp, and cold.Temperatures are frequently below freezing, and employees are expected to remain in these conditions for most of their work days. |
